Ableton just dropped the 12.2 update, and it comes with some really exciting new tools and improvements. You can check out the full list on their site here: Ableton Live 12.2 release notes.

One of the highlights for me is definitely Meld’s new chord oscillator. This opens up a whole new way of creating harmonically rich sounds, layering textures, and pushing ideas further without having to build everything note by note.

I made a video diving into how it works, with tips on how you can start using it in your own tracks:

What’s New in Ableton Live 12.2?

1. Bounce to New Track

Instantly resample clips or time selections—including all effects—onto a new audio track, making it easy to consolidate ideas and manage CPU usage effortlessly.

2. All-New Auto Filter

A complete redesign with:

  • Fresh visual layout and real-time spectral display

  • Mono stereo frequency modulation visualization

  • Creative filter types: DJ, Comb, Vowel, Morph (with slope options and morphing), Resampling, and Notch + LP filters
