Liina Turtonen aka LNA
I’m a Finnish-born music producer, composer, sound designer, and artist based in the UK, working across film, TV, interactive media, contemporary dance, and visual art. My work blends emotional depth with sonic experimentation, often combining electronic, acoustic, and generative sound. Whether scoring to picture or building sound systems that respond to movement, I’m passionate about creating immersive and accessible sound worlds that serve the story and deepen emotional connection. As someone who experiences sound visually because of my dyslexia, making music for visual work feels instinctive, it’s how I naturally connect with stories and emotions, translating what I see into sound.
Alongside my commissioned work, I release music under the name LNA, a project rooted in melancholic electronica, melodic/progressive house and cinematic electronic sound. My artist releases have been featured on BBC Radio 1 Dance (Introducing with Jaguar) and reflect the same love for rich textures, acoustic/electronic blending, and storytelling through sound that I bring to my composition and sound design work.

Composition for Visual Media
I compose original music for film, television, visual art projects, and dance performances, combining emotionally-driven motifs with textured sound design. I’m comfortable working across styles: from classical to electronica, EDM, and ambient, and I’m not afraid to experiment to find the right sound. I play many instruments myself and can handle recording, production, mixing, and mastering, making the process flexible and easy. My focus is always on creating music that fits the brief and supports the story the client wants to tell.

Interactive Sound Design
My interactive work focuses on responsive sound for dance, performance, and installation. I use Max/MSP, Arduino, and biofeedback or motion sensors to let performers shape sound through movement, heart rate, or touch. I’ve worked with inclusive dance company Tin Arts for over five years, developing techniques like an interactive floor and using contact microphones. In 2024–25, I received Arts Council England funding to create accessible instruments for disabled dancers.

LNA – Cinematic Electronic Music
As LNA, I release music that blends melancholic electronica and melodic/progressive house with cinematic textures and organic elements like violin and voice. These tracks often explore personal and emotional themes, and have been featured on BBC Radio 1 Dance (Introducing with Jaguar) and other platforms. My work as LNA feeds directly into my scoring and sound design, both technically and emotionally.
